Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted business robbery after four armed men targeted a liquor store in Humansdorp on Monday morning.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli says the incident happened at around 08:10.
He says four men, two of them armed with firearms, entered a liquor store through the delivery entrance at the back of the establishment.
Nkohli said it’s further alleged that a scuffle then broke out between the suspects and employees.
“During the commotion, one of the employees was fatally shot and the suspects managed to flee the scene,” he said.
Nkohli said it is unclear if any items were stolen during the incident.
“Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact a team leader in the investigating team on 081 234 7783. The information may also be shared via Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
