An elderly woman has lost both her arms and her legs in a horrific train accident
ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said the woman, believed to be in her 70s, was hit by a train in Athlone, Cape Town, on Thursday morning.
She was walking across railway lines when the accident happened.
"ER24 paramedics and other services attended to the incident. The woman was found laying in the middle of two train tracks. She was conscious but in a critical condition," Bodasing said.
"She sustained amputations to both her legs below the knees and both arms below the elbows. She was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care," said Bodasing.
