An elderly man and a teenager from Kwazulu Natal have been arrested for being in possession of child pornography.
Police Spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala says the 79-year-old man from Hillcrest and a 17-year-old boy from Margate were arrested on Wednesday.
The teenager will appear in court on Thursday, whilst the elderly man will make his first appearance on Friday.
Gwala says on the 14th of February, police received information that a teenager was in possession of images and videos of young people exposing themselves.
Police seized his phone and subsequently opened a case at the Margate police station.
Gwala says a third suspect whom they arrested as far back as 2017 was also sentenced in the Pinetown Regional Court on Thursday.
The 24-year-old John Travis Turnham had a phone and three hard drives with images of child pornography.
Turnham made several court appearances over the last two years before finally being convicted and sentenced to five years in prison.
