North West police are hunting for two men who killed a farmer outside Ventersdorp during a robbery on Sunday morning.
Police said the 67-year-old farmer's wife was also assaulted and possibly raped during the incident.
Police Brigadier Thulani Ngubane says the farmer died on the scene.
The men tied up his wife before fleeing with two cellphones.
Ngubane says the woman managed to free herself and call for help.
The Couple was getting ready for church when the incident happened.
