Education lobby group, Equal Education, says it will lead a march in Cape Town on Saturday to protest the proposed closure of 27 schools.
The march has been arranged by the Save Our Schools coalition to rally support for the schools that are in the firing line.
Earlier this month, the Department said the public process around the schools had ended and that Education Minister, Donald Grant would consider all submissions before announcing a decision by the end of the month or early next month.
However, Equal Education says it believes the reasons given by the Western Cape Education Department for the proposed closure of the schools are not justified and warned of legal action if this went ahead.
