EC roads update from Provincial Traffic

Eastern Cape Traffic Authorities said Friday morning that snow was not falling in the Nico Malan pass, but the road cannot be opened as yet as the snow is too think at more than 150mm.

Spokesperson, Charles Bramwell, said there are trees some trees are on the road and these will be removed once “our teams are able to drive up the whole pass.”

He said the Barkly Pass towards Elliot is still closed and there is a truck stuck in the pass.

Bramwell said it is still snowing in that area and the road is icy.

He said all other passes are open.
