Police divers have recovered the decomposed body of a man from the Gcuwa River near Butterworth in the Eastern Cape.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, said members of the East London K9 search and rescue team were dispatched to the scene on Friday after residents reported seeing the body in the river.
She said after a brief search, police divers found the body yesterday afternoon and an inquest docket was opened.
She said the man had been wearing a long sleeve check shirt, dark pants, and shoes.
