Butterworth police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a man was killed while on his way to church.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, says the 55-year-old man was hit by a truck while crossing the N2 near Ndabakazi Station just outside Butterworth.
“The accident took place on Wednesday 21 March 2018 at about 10:00. The deceased was on his way to church,” he said.
Manatha said the truck was traveling from East London towards Butterworth.
Butterworth Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide. The identity of the deceased will be made known once his next of kin is officially informed of his death,” he said.
