Abalone with an estimated street value of R2.6 million has been seized at the Durban Harbour.
Captain Anelisa Feni says Hawks Eastern Cape Serious Organised Crime members confiscated 1.6 tons of Abelone in yesterday's bust at the Durban Harbour.
She said the seizure emanates from information received from a similar seizure which occurred on 26 January 2018 at the Port Elizabeth Harbour.
Feni said 8.6 tons of abalone, valued at R18 million, was seized last month.
