The Durban businessman who was arrested for racially abusing President Cyril Ramaphosa in a video that he posted on Facebook is expected to apply for bail next week.
Former local government councillor Kessie Nair appeared in the Verulam Magistrate's Court on Thursday afternoon where the case against him was postponed for a bail application.
In the video, Nair called President Cyril Ramaphosa the K-word and accused him of fraud and also oppressing South Africans, among other things.
Nair was arrested at his home by the Hawks on Wednesday on charges of crimen injuria and incitement to violence.
The Presidency said that it would not be taking any legal action against Nair.
Presidency spokesperson Khuselo Diko, said the issue did not deserve any attention as Nair's views do not represent the majority of South African who are working together to build a united country.
