Five drug smugglers are due to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday, over the seizures of more than 54 kg of drugs worth about R16m.
The SA Revenue Service's customs division says the 10 most recent seizures were from Friday to Sunday at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and were related to incoming flights, mainly from Sao Paulo.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Tummi Shai, says organised crime is a problem globally, and that many drug syndicates have grown their influence around the world.
