The Automobile Association (AA) says motorists can expect significant fuel price reductions to kick off the new year.
The AA says unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund, indicate substantial decreases in the prices for both grades of petrol, diesel, and illuminating paraffin in January.
Petrol is slated to drop by around 68 and 82 cents a litre respectively, while diesel is set to decrease considerably by around R1.50 per litre and illuminating paraffin by around R1.42 per litre.
The AA says the expected reductions can be attributed to the significantly lower international product prices.
For many families who will be going on vacation, this is also good news as it will undoubtedly reduce expenses on the return leg of their journeys.
