Domingo will need to re-apply for job after England tour

JOHANNESBURG, January 28 (ANA) – Proteas coach Russell Domingo will have to re-apply for his job after South Africa’s tour to England later this year.

Cricket SA (CSA) sent out a statement on Saturday on retaining a six-franchise system and restructuring senior provincial cricket.

The very last paragraph of the statement, however, read: “The Board of Directors also resolved to commence the recruitment process for the appointment of the Proteas head coach to take charge after the tour to the UK until after the 2019 edition of the ICC World Cup.”

It means Domingo either does not want to continue in the job or that CSA wish to hire someone else.

Cricket SA clarified that “the process to appoint/confirm a coach post the England tour has begun” and that Domingo can re-apply for his position.
