The Deputy Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Dipuo Peters has been suspended.
The news was confirmed by the Presidency on Friday.
Spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says the decision follows a sanction adopted by Parliament’s Joint Committee on Ethics and Members' Interests against the Deputy Minister.
The Committee found that Ms Peters had breached the Code of Ethical Conduct in her former portfolio as Minister of Transport.
Sixty-four-year-old Peters was the Minister of Transport from 2013- 2017.
Consequently, Ms Peters was sanctioned and suspended for one term.
Magwenya says the suspension is only for one month and will be without pay.
