Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee to initiate and introduce legislation to amend Section 25 of the Constitution to allow for the expropriation of land without compensation, has reminded the public of Saturday's looming deadline for written submissions.
Committee Chairperson, Mathole Motshekga says the public has had an opportunity until 29 February 2020 since early December last year to provide input on how they would like to see these amendments take shape.
The initial deadline for written submissions was 31 January, however, the committee felt that many South African might not have taken up the opportunity due to the process opening during the festive season.
Motshekga says the committee commenced with public hearings as part of the public participation process in the Free State on Saturday.
