The Economic Freedom Fighters have confirmed the death of the daughter of the party’s former secretary-general Godrich Gardee.
Police said the body of Hillary Gardee was found outside Nelspruit on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old went missing last Friday after she was last seen at a local supermarket.
She was studying Information Technology at the University of South Africa.
Her body was found with wounds to the head and police are investigating a case of murder.
Messages of condolences and support have been pouring in from across the political spectrum for the Gardee family.
Police Minister, Bheki Cele, visited the Gardee family on Tuesday, saying SAPS have a strong team investigating the case.
