A Danish man accused of unlawfully performing crude surgery on female victims in which he removed parts of their genitals, that were later found stored in his freezer, is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein High Court on Friday, for a pre-trial conference.
Peter Frederiksen, 63, was arrested in September 2015, after police found 21 pieces of female genitalia in a freezer at his Langenhoven Park home in Bloemfontein.
He is facing 59 charges, including assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possessing unregistered medicine, possessing unlicensed firearms, distributing and possessing child pornography, conspiracy to murder, and bigamy.
Frederiksenâs wife alerted the police about her husbandâs alleged unlawful activities. The police made the gruesome discovery when they searched his home in July.
The case made international headlines.
Police have appealed to victims to come forward. It is believed that the accused sedated his victims before operating on them and removing parts of their genitalia.
Frederiksen reportedly owns a gun shop in Bloemfontein and has been living in South Africa since 2006.
