DA protest over mismanagement of Oudtshoorn Municipality

The Democratic Alliance marched to the Oudtshoorn Municipality on Monday in protest against alleged mismanagement of the Municipality.

DA Western Cape leader, Ivan Meyer says a memorandum was handed to Mayor Gordon April.

He says the document listed examples of "gross mismanagement" and "dirty tricks" allegedly employed by the ANC in Oudtshoorn.

Meyer said a coalition between the ANC, Icosa and the National People's Party had "clung to power" in the municipality, despite the fact that the DA won a by-election in August last year, which gave it control of the Oudtshoorn council.

Municipality spokesperson, Ntobeko Mangqwengqwe, confirmed receipt of the memorandum, saying that a response would follow at a later stage.
