Democratic Alliance MP, Patricia Kopane, will conduct site visits to state hospitals in Nelson Mandela Bay today.
She will be accompanied by DA leader in the Bhisho legislature, Bobby Stevenson and the party's provincial spokesperson on health, John Kupido.
The visit comes in the wake of the threats by the provincial health department to take disciplinary action against three senior doctors who spoke out about the state of health care in the PE Hospital Complex.
The doctors, supported by all heads of department, have received overwhelming support for their stance from various medical bodies, including the SA Medical Association.
Algoa FM News has learnt that health superintendent-general, Dr Siva Pillay, will meet the doctors in Port Elizabeth later today.
