DA granted a debate on the Gupta saga

Democratic Alliance Chief Whip Watty Watson says the Speaker of the National Assembly, Max Sisulu, has granted the DA's request for a debate of public importance on the use of Waterkloof Airforce Base by the Gupta family.

Watson says he wrote to the Speaker on the third of May, asking him to approve a debate on the Gupta saga.

Watson is urging President Jacob Zuma to make himself available for the debate which he hopes will take place as early as next week.

"It is regarding as extreme public importance. There has been a public outcry that I have never before seen in my life. I think it is vitally important that we have this debate. I am extremely pleased that the Speaker has granted the debate, and I hope we can have the debate very very soon as it is important," he said
