 A DA councillor was electrocuted while erecting posters for by-elections in the Mpofana municipality in KwaZulu-Natal.

The opposition party said on Friday that they're devastated at the tragic and needless death of Ken Denysschen.

DA spokesperson, Sizwe Mchunu, said the incident happened on Thursday when Denysshen was erecting posters for the by-elections on the 29th of this month.

He served as a councillor in the municipality since 2011.
