Cricket SA's chief executive, Gerald Majola was suspended on Saturday for one year, pending the outcome of a disciplinary inquiry.
CSA Board spokesperson, Oupa Nka-gi-sang says the decision taken by the board was unanimous.
North West Cricket Association’s CEO, Jacques Faul was appointed CSA’s acting chief executive until the outcome of Majola’s hearing.
The disciplinary inquiry will address the findings of the KPMG report, and the recommendations of the Nicholson committee pertaining to Majola.
Ray Mali, who chaired Saturday’s board meeting, says Majola had applied to the board for a leave of absence, but a decision had already been taken to follow the recommendations of retired judge, Chris Nicholson.
The board will meet on March 30 to decide on the composition and head of the committee to investigate Majola.
