South Africa has now passed the grim milestone of over 95 000 people succumbing to Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says that the latest mortality cases reported on Sunday, include backlog cases that have now emerged.
The NICD says this is due to an ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health.
The number of deaths due to Covid-19 has been reported as 117, however, only 15 occurred in the past 24 to 48 hours.
This brings the total fatalities to 95-thousand and 22.
