South Africa has recorded 13 new Covid-19-related deaths, raising the country’s death toll to 116.
Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize announced on Friday that the deaths were reported in the Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in now stands at 5,951, with 2,382 recoveries.
The health department has conducted 217,522 tests for the coronavirus.
The province with the highest number of recorded cases is the Western Cape at 2,507, followed by Gauteng at 1,507 and KwaZulu-Natal at 1,006.
The Eastern Cape has 691 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 254 recoveries.
