Cosatu has cancelled all speeches at its main Main Day rally in Bloemfontein after President Jacob Zuma was heckled by a large crowd.
Cosatu is on record as calling on President Zuma to step down, but leaders said Monday that the ANC deployed its leaders to various May Day rallies around the country.
Cosatu leader, Sidumo Dlamini, said earlier that if Cosatu members wanted him to step down, he would.
SACP leader, Blade Nzimande, was reportedly also due to address the Cosatu event.

The ANC said last week that its party leaders would take a message of unity to the Worker Day rallies.
Last week several Cosatu affiliated unions, Nehawu and the Communications Workers Union, called on President Zuma not to attend Monday’s event.
Cosatu spokesperson in the Free State, Monyato Mahlatsi, said that their main objective was to hand over a memorandum of worker grievances to government.
He said the decision to call off all speeches was because the crowd continued to sing and were not going to listen to any speeches.
