Trade union Cosatu has called for a boycott of popular SABC 1 soapie Generations on Monday night.
This is to protest against the dismissal of 16 of the soapie's actors by production company MMSV productions.
The actors were fired after they went on strike following a dispute over pay and working conditions.
In a statement Cosatu spokesperson, Patrick Craven, says they are throwing their weight behind the actors who have been out of work for a month, and are determined to win their reinstatement.
Craven adds that the fights of these 16, symbolises the battle of all creative workers such as actors, musicians and technicians who are routinely exploited by production companies and broadcasters.
