Nine men including a police captain and a constable will appear in the Boksburg magistrates court on Tuesday for allegedly hijacking a truck.
Police Spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo says the policemen were in full uniform escorting the truck in their marked police vehicle.
Other members of the police who were on routine patrol on the N12 highway in Benoni, noticed the truck being escorted by three vehicles, including a police car.
They kept a close eye on them and eventually intercepted them in Boksburg.
Masondo says the truck was full of groceries and had been hijacked in Potchefstroom.
All nine men will face various charges including truck hijacking, possession of a stolen vehicle, defeating the ends of justice and driving a vehicle without the owner's consent.
