Sporadic protests are now breaking out in Jeppestown, Benrose, Denver, Berea, the Johannesburg CBD and the N1 towards Sebokeng.
The riots are believed to be in retaliation to the incarceration of former President Jacob Zuma.
The Constitutional Court sentenced Zuma to 15-months in prison for being in contempt of court after he refused to appear at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.
Zuma's legal team applied for a rescission application at the court which will be heard on Monday.
