Parliament's Portfolio Committee says it will review all SAPS strategies on safety and the prevention of police killings.
Committee chairperson, Francois Beukman, says killing of police officers in this country has reached intolerable proportions.
He says any strategy intended to curb this, needs to focus more on preventative measures, rather than reactive ones.
Beukman was commenting following the weekend attacks on three policemen, two of whom were fatally wounded in Gauteng.
More than 50 police members have been killed on and off-duty this year.
Beukman said earlier this year that the SA Police Service tabled a strategy document to combat police killings and this will be fully interrogated at a meeting on Friday.
