A woman who failed her learner's test last week went undercover for the Hawks after she approached them for being solicited for a bribe.
Spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi says the complainant failed her test at the Mkhuhlu Driver's License Testing Centre in Mbombela but was offered another opportunity if she could pay an amount of R1 000.
She says the woman agreed and booked a new date for her test on Monday, before approaching the Hawks.
Captain Sekgotodi says the Hawks authorised a Section 252A, that allowed them to set up a trap.
The complainant arrived at the centre on Monday where the R1 000 successfully changed hands.
It is alleged that several other people, who were also due to write their tests on Monday, paid the same amount to two officers.
Both suspects, aged 45 and 47 were arrested and are expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
The Hawks recovered the entrapment money of R1 000 and confiscated an extra R9 600.00.
Captain Sekgotodi says statements were taken from the other applicants since they too paid money over.
She urged others who were duped in the same way to come forward to furnish the Hawks with a statement.
