Human skeletal remains found in a small town in the Free Sate province have been analysed by forensic anthropologists and identified as those of a coloured woman.
In a statement on Thursday, police spokesperson Mamello Mokhuoane said a woman discovered the bones near Courtlandâs farm in Hennenman in October, 2013 and immediately informed police.
The remains were sent for forensic analysis.
Mokhuoane said the Welkom Local Criminal Record Centre worked with anthropologists from various universities to âestimate a biological profileâ.
âA facial compilation of the skeletal remains was constructed using the biological profileâ.
Its believed the woman was aged between 17 and 27 when she died.
