South African Police are searching for a truck driver who entered the country with cocaine worth nearly R30 million.
The driver disappeared from the Lebombo Port of Entry on Saturday when his vehicle was intercepted by Customs Officials.
Spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala says the driver entered the Port from Mozambique on Saturday morning where he declared his cargo as hair pieces.
He says after the cargo was cleared the truck, with Gauteng number plates, was handpicked for further inspection.
Brigadier Mohlala says during the inspection the driver informed officials that he was going to get hold of the truck owner but then disappeared into thin air.
He says moments later police discovered 200kg of suspected cocaine, hidden inside the truck.
Police have now launched a manhunt for both the truck owner and driver.
