Western Cape police have seized 20 blocks of cocaine with a street value of R24m at Cape Town harbour.
Police captain Frederick van Wyk says members of the crime intelligence unit raided the harbour on Monday afternoon following a tip-off that the drugs were being smuggled in a ship container.
The container, which was destined for a cold storage company in Montague Gardens, was intercepted and searched.
Van Wyk says preliminary investigations revealed that the drugs originated in South America.
