EFF leader Julius Malema has called on his supporters to mobilise at Clicks Stores to boycott them on Monday.

This, in the wake of a furore over a Tresseme’ hair product advert on the Clicks website depicting black natural hair as dry, damaged and frizzy, while white natural hair was depicted as "normal".

The companies issued apologies on Friday, acknowledging that the advert missed the mark and not in line with the values of the two brands.

Clicks on Sunday issued a brief statement on their social media platforms that they will be operating as per normal on Monday and that contingency plans have been put in place to protect both staff and customers.

Clicks have been trending on Twitter for most of the weekend with hundreds of followers threatening to boycott the store with some tweeting photographs of their Club cards cut in pieces.
