History was made in South African chess on Wednesday when Chess Grandmaster Wesley So took part in the largest simultaneous exhibition ever to be held in South Africa.
The Grandmaster faced 103 players at a hotel in Boksburg, won 91 games, lost 3 games and drew 9.
The Filipino - American grandmaster broke the previous record for the largest ever simultaneous chess exhibition in South Africa, also set at the SA Junior Chess Championships. The previous record was 101 games.
The simultaneous exhibition started at seven o'clock on Wednesday evening and ended at around 12.30 am on Thursday morning.
Organisers of the SA Junior Champs say Wesley So also took part in an exhibition match against Daniel Cawdery South Africa's top-rated chess player.
If that wasn't enough, he also gave a Simultaneous Blindfold exhibition against 10 players.
Event organiser Bruce Mabayiwa says he's understandably weary and is now heading to Port Elizabeth for a well-earned holiday.
