Charges have been dropped against one of the two men accused of raping and killing Bredasdorp teenager Anene Booysen.
The National Prosecuting Authority says charges were withdrawn on Tuesday against 22 year-old Jonathan Davids after a thorough investigation and because of insufficient evidence against him.
However, the NPA said the State would continue with its case against 21 year-old Johannes Kana, who has reportedly confessed to raping and assaulting Booysen, but not killing her.
He has not applied for bail, and the case was postponed to the third of June for plea proceedings.
