Police Minister, Bheki Cele, on Saturday visited the home of the Mancoba family near Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape.
The home was used as the premises for the controversial Seven Angels Ministry Church.
Several church members including members of the Mancoba family were arrested for the deadly attack on the Ngcobo police station in which five policemen and a soldier were killed.
Seven people were killed in a subsequent police raid on the property days later.
Cele’s visit to the Mancoba family home came after he started his imbizo at the Ngcobo police station.
The Minister met with Mrs Nombongo Mancoba, “the mother of the seven angels” and also took some time to look inside the rooms where the crossfire between the police and
church members happened, a police statement said.
Minister Cele was accompanied by the Deputy National Commissioner-Policing, Lieutenant-General Masemola, EC Safety MEC, Weziwe Tikana and EC Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant-General Liziwe Ntshinga.
