Rescuers have still not located a team of "cavers" who went missing on Table Mountain on Tuesday night.
The cavers were reported missing at 9.30pm on Tuesday after they failed to return to their car, which was parked at the Constantia Nek section of the mountain, emergency services spokesman Kerry Davids said on Wednesday.
One of the cavers is thought to be a 74-year-old man.
"A team of about 30 rescuers who include rescue technicians, climbers, cavers and medics spent the night searching for the group," Davids said.
At about an 8am the rescuers had found two bags outside of the Giant Extension cave in the Wynberg area on the back of Table Mountain.
There was no further news available.
She said a team of fresh rescuers were being sent to help with the operation. (Sapa)
