Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille has sent her condolences to the family of a man who died when a boat capsized in Hout Bay.
She also expressed gratitude to the National Sea Rescue Institute for their efforts to save other passengers from the boat.
A charter boat, The Miroshga capsized near Duiker Island on Saturday afternoon.
34 people were rescued, but a man was declared dead on arrival at the Hout Bay NSRI station.
Police have opened an inquest docket.
