Two acts of cable theft have left a man dead, a sub-station aflame, and the Roodepoort area without power.
Johannesburg City Power said on Monday that the first cable theft happened at a Roodetown substation and left the nearby area without power from 7 o'clock in the morning.
Spokesperson, Sol Masolo, says the body of a man was also found at the sub-station.
The fire at the sub-station also knocked out traffic lights, resulting in traffic jams.
