Body of newborn with serious head injury found in landfill

The body of a newborn baby boy was found on Tuesday morning at the Mooiplaas Landfill in Centurion, paramedics said.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said their personnel were called to the scene by a local security company.

He says the baby boy had sustained a serious head injury and showed no signs of life.

The infant was declared dead on the scene.

Details surrounding the incident is being investigated by local authorities.
