Two motorcyclists were arrested on Friday after they were caught speeding on the N1 south of Johannesburg.
Spokesperson for the Metro Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar says the first motorcyclist was caught driving his BMW motorbike at 271km/h in a 120km zone. He failed to stop at a roadblock and was arrested.
The second motorcyclist was caught on the same stretch of road riding his bike at 206km/hour.
"He was on his motorcycle with a female passenger," said Minnaar.
His bike was also without number plates.
Minnaar said bikers removed their plates in order to cheat the speed cameras monitoring the roads
