A group of Bangladeshi nationals who entered the country without proper documentation from Dubai were intercepted by the Border Management Authority (BMA), at O.R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Saturday evening.
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) praised the BMA for its action in a statement on Monday
"The travelers were denied entry into South Africa after they were found not to have the required legal documentation. One of the travelers did not have a visa, while the other 27 were found to have fraudulent visas," said ACSA regional General Manager, Jabulani Khambule,
He said ACSA has an integrated, multi-agency safety and security approach throughout its environment to enhance airport and aviation security in general.
Khambule added that the company has rolled out an aviation security model that is integrated with various law enforcement authorities to root out crime at its airports.
"Anyone planning to break the law should take heed that ACSA has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of criminal or unlawful behaviour across its airport network
"Any form of fraud, corruption or any other type of illicit or criminal behaviour will be dealt with severely and offenders will face the full might of the law," Khambule said.
