'Baby Jesus' stolen from crib

A baby doll depicting Jesus at a nativity scene display in Durban's upper-class Westville suburb has been ripped from its
crib, the Daily News reported on Monday.

All that was left behind in the crib according to the afternoon daily was the doll's arm.

The vandalism to the nativity scene, which was discovered on Saturday, had left organisers fuming, the newspaper reported.

The display was put together by volunteers about two weeks ago.

Helen Canon, who has managed the display for the past nine years, wrote on the Upper Highway Facebook page: "To the hooligans
who stole baby Jesus and a sheep, you are really not funny or clever at all! What pleasure do you get from trashing your own
neighbourhood?

Please do the right thing and return them."

According to the report a cow's tail had been ripped off, a shepherd's coat stolen, and Joseph's beard had been removed.
