Arrests lead police to storage facility in Pretoria stacked with stolen goods

Two men aged 21 and 28 are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday on charges of possession of suspected stolen property worth approximately R4 million.

This follows the hijacking of a logistics’ truck with cargo while en route from OR Tambo International Airport to Kempton Park last Saturday.

The National Prosecuting authority reports that the truck driver was allegedly threatened and forced off the road by armed suspects who bundled him into a bakkie and later dumped him in Tembisa unharmed.

The suspects were traced to a house in Ormonde on Monday where they were arrested.

Suspected stolen cellphones and laptops were seized.

Further investigation led the team to a private storage facility in Pretoria North where other valuables which included thermometers, stoves, fridges, and sweets were recovered.
