Social Development Minister, Bathabile Dlamini has been elected as the new presidsent of the ANC Women's League.
Dlamini defeated Angie Motshekga at the league's long-awaited elective conference which was held in Pretoria on Friday.
The ANCWL has not elected new leaders since 2008, when Motshekga was first elected president.
It was meant to hold its conference in 2013 but battled to do so due to infighting.
The conference was already postponed twice this year.
