ANC veteran Mavuso Msimango has added his voice to the chorus of people and groups calling for President Jacob Zuma to step down.
Msimango was speaking at the official launch of the Active Citizens Movement in KwaZulu-Natal this weekend.
Several organisations and opposition parties have started movements calling for the President to vacate office
The calls have intensified as revelations of alleged state capture continue to emerge through the controversial Gupta emails.
Some members of the ruling party have also voiced their dissatisfaction with President Zuma ahead pf the party's elective conference later this year
Msimango said President Zuma could have saved the country millions if he had stepped down long ago in the wake of the report by former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela, on her Nkandla investigation..
"Some of us made an attempt to talk to the president after the release of the Madonsela report. Madonsela said you were negligent not to see buildings coming up in your yard. If you stepped down today, I tell you we will go and tell everybody to stop taking you to court," he said.
