The ANC task team established to help Cosatu deal with its internal problems will continue its support despite the ousting of Zwelinzima Vavi.
ANC spokesperson, Zizi Kodwa, says the task team is led by ANC deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa, and will continue with its task as mandated by the ANC's national executive committee.
Vavi was expelled at a special meeting of Cosatu's central executive committee which met on Monday.
He boycotted the meeting which voted by 30 votes to one in favour of his ouster.
In response, Vavi said his expulsion was illegal and unfair.
Several Cosatu affiliated unions are backing Vavi.
