ANC pleased with engagements with US president Barack Obama

The ANC says its pleased by the outcomes of the engagement between the US and South Africa.
ANC spokesperson, Jackson Mthembu, says the ruling party is particular pleased with the commitments made by US president Barack Obama, in areas of trade and investment.
He says the commitment to seek the expansion of the US's African Growth and Opportunity Act beyond 2015, will ensure greater access for South African products to US markets.
Mthembu says Obama's R7-billion commitment for renewable energy programmes in Africa is also a decisive intervention to support the continent's initiatives to increase access to energy and electricity throughout the continent.
