The ANC in Kwazulu Natal said the two security officials shown handling firearms and threatening violence in a video, have been fired as bodyguards of ANC e-Thekwini regional secretary, Bheki Ntuli.
The men appear to be making threats in the video and are shown cocking their firearms.
One of the men appears to be in possession of an AK-47.
The ANC's provincial spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli said they are investigating the matter further.
"We have since directed the regional secretary of the ANC to act on this matter, to engage with the company that provided him with security in order for appropriate actions to be taken," he said.
Ntuli said "the behaviour they displayed and it was done in a province that is confronted by the scourge of killings of our comrades is quite appalling," he said.
